1 million things is my title for this project. every time i start a unit, I quickly wander off to other sites. I have seen and learned a lot, and now need to start over, focusing on the stated tasks.

PART 2 - INSTRUCTION 11:00 a.m.-noon, HPL Computer Lab Registration required
Web 2.0, social networking, bookmarking, RSS feeds, wikis: what are they and how can you use them personally and professionally? How can social software tools be used to connect with the massive online community that has emerged with Web 2.0? Find out at this two-part program co-sponsored by the Hartford Public Library and CLC.
In Part 1, Ellyssa Kroski, an expert on emerging technologies and their applications, will discuss Web 2.0 and show examples of how libraries and librarians are using these technologies.
In Part 2, registered participants will move to the computer lab to receive guided instruction in creating and using social networking and bookmarking tools, RSS feeds, and wikis.
Ellyssa Kroski is a self-described "emerging tech information consultant / librarian / writer / speaker / instructor." She blogs on ilibrarian and InfoTangle. Ellyssa's book, Web 2.0 for Librarians and Information Professionals, was published this year.
